Massage therapy is beneficial for people of all ages. Although it is widely understood that it decreases stress and helps to control pain, a lesser known benefit is massage therapy’s effectiveness in treating deeper structures of the body, such as ligaments, bones and joints, fascia, blood vessels, organs, and other soft tissues.
Massage therapy can provide relief for many common conditions while also being effective at improving circulation and immune system function, increasing lymphatic drainage, reducing depression and anxiety, and increasing body awareness. You may also find that you are better equipped to prevent or decrease new injuries from occurring due to your increased flexibility and the suppleness of the muscle tissue that comes with continued treatments. There are many benefits of massage therapy, not the least of which is its ability to enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being, while generally elevating your quality of life.
